This game is great until you play it for a couple weeks. Once you beat it, it gets kinda boring but you'll find something fun to do. It is not as good as GTA3 in terms of city layout, but still is still jaw-dropping. The music is great for people who lived in the 80's but I like the regular made up music in previous GTA's. I still like the various cars and extensive amount of missons. It all makes a very good, ownable, and fun game for people who like to commit crime in games.

this game is great. the graphics and the violence went up so much. the last gta had only 75 this has more than 100. the bad thing is that it is not for kids. why? i killed twenty people in a minute blew up many boats. little kids shouldnt get ideas

GTA3 was a great game and the bar was set pretty high. Vice City, however, has blown it out of the water.

First things first-this game is NOT for kids. It contains violence, obscenity, all the adult content of an R-rated movie. No children should be playing this game!

Now that we've got that out of the way, it should be noted how great the game is.

The great thing about GTA games is their freedom and flexibility. The main focus of the game is on its entertaining missions, during which you make money for yourself, expand your criminal empire, all while punishing the other criminals of Vice City and avoiding police scrutiny. These missions can be started at your discretion. In the meantime, you are always free to walk/drive around the city performing various other functions, such as taxi/pizza delivery/fire/ambulance/police missions, finding ramps off of which to perform unique vehicle stunt jumps, sticking up local stores, or anything else you like.

Improvements on this game from GTA3 include

--Celebrity voice-overs, including Ray Liotta, Philip Michael Thomas (vastly underrated), Burt Reynolds, Dennis Hopper, and my favorite, Gary Busey.

--A police force which is more difficult to elude.

--Gangs which are easier to deal with. I hated that after I had finished the GTA3 missions, I couldn't drive around much without being assaulted by gangs which I had previously taken care of.

--The ability to buy and control asset properties in order to generate income.

--The ability to fly helicopters and planes.

No video game is perfect, and there are still some things I would like to see improved. One frustrating aspect it the clunky method of switching between weapons. I can't tell you how many times I tried to switch to my rocket launcher, only to switch to the wrong weapon and pay dearly for it. I also didn't like how the radio stations were too monochromatic and didn't have as much contrast as before.

If you don't mind violence, you will love Vice City. It's certainly easy to find now at a great price, and I recommend it
